The Patchwork Quilt was such a good story of a Grandmother's love for her family! As the story unfolds, the illustrations that Jerry Pinkney provides readers is a comforting image of an African American family brought together by their Grandmother's patchwork quilt.
According to the book jacket, Jerry Pinkney has won numerous awards, and his work has even been showcased at the AIGA Book Show, the Society of Illustrators Annual Show, and in museums around the country.
Mr. Pinkney has illustrated over 85 children's books. Some of my favorite include:
- The Little Match Girl
- Rikki Tikki Tavi
- The Man Who Kept his Heart in a Bucket
- The Hired Hand
His latest work of illustration is The Three Little Kittens which was published in 2010.
